Works For Me Wednesday- Special Needs Resources


Many of you know I teach special education, which covers a very broad umbrella of kiddos. There are a TON of great resources out there, but since many students have multiple needs I often found myself searching and switching screens. Not a good use of time…. enter SEN teacher! This site has it all and in one place! print-ables, free software downloads, customized search engines. It has really saved me a ton of time and headache.

 And it is FREE!!

The best Valentine’s day gift Ever!

More and more of these silly things are going around. Being that it is Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share a little about my Valentine….

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?

2. You’re out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Blue Cheese or Ranch

3. What’s one food he doesn’t like? Broccoli and after our most recent round of the stomach flu, cream chees.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? Boulevard Wheat with a lemon.

5. Where did he go to high school? Shawnee Mission South

6. What size shoe does he wear? 10 to 10 ½

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Historic Baseball items

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Depends on the day, and time of year

9. What would he eat every day if he could? Anything but Chinese Food

10. What is his favorite cereal?  Coco Puffs, but since he is training for his marathon is it Honey Nut Cherrios

11. What would he never wear? Top Siders (sorry Mike)
12. What is his favorite sports team? Football- 49ers, Baseball- Giants, FI- McClaren, Indy Car- either Rahal Letterman or AGR, College- Jayhawks

13. Who did he vote for? Obama

14. Who is his best friend? Me

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do? Hummm, I am perfect so nothing! ( OK I can’t even type that without cracking up) He wishes I wouldn’t get so overwhelmed

16. How many states has he lived in? Three, North Carolina, California, and Kansas

17. What is his heritage? German and French

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what would it be? Better than Sex Cake

19. Did he play sports in high school? Track; other than that he was a Geek academic type

20. What could he spend hours doing? Running, watching King of the Hill or Sports, playing with our Son.

21. What’s something cool about him? He is an amazing husband and dad. I am so thankful God choose me to be his wife.

25 Random Things About Me


These are all going around Facebook and since many of you don’t really “know me” I thought I would post mine here…

1. I have two brothers, one passed away shortly after birth.
2. I met my husband in high school, but didn’t start dating him until we were seniors in college
3. I love rocking my baby to sleep
4. I have issues; my food can’t touch on the plate
5. I can not sing, my daddy paid so much money for me to have lessons and I still suck
6. I used to be a ballerina, but then I had a kid and got fat
7. I thought childbirth was easy, I loved it (I was drugged)
8. I live with in a mile of most of my family
9. I am afraid of mice, snakes, rats, and pretty much all pests
10. I am a terrible speller; I have to have someone proofread all my work
11. I am dying to be a stay at home mom
12. I have a big fat beagle who was supposed to die 6 years ago. She still acts like a puppy
13. I am a twitter addict
14. My mom is my hero
15. I love photography; I really want to be better at it.
16. I am terrified of disappointing my dad
17. I love to bake; Mark is my sous chief
18. I love my grandparents and am scared to lose them
19. I wish I could learn from my mistakes
20. I have never done anything truly extraordinary
21. My brother published a book, and I am very proud of him
22. I wish I had a better relationship with God
23. I have a big (150lb) golden retriever who makes me feel safe even though he would never hurt a fly
24. I should exercise more
